Hours after the National Investigaton Agency (NIA) nabbed two key suspects in the Rameshwaram cafe blast case from near Kolkata, CM Mamata Banerjee said that West Bengal Police's prompt action led to their arrest.

"Heard a BJP leader saying that Bengal is not safe. What can we say now about the accused who remained hidden here for two hours and were arrested within two hours due to the prompt action of our police. What about the states where you are in power? Tell me, what will you say about Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Gujarat, Bihar?", the CM said.

"People of Bengal want to live in peace but BJP does not like it", she added.

Bengal CM's reaction comes after BJP's Amit Malviya took to his X platform, criticising the Bengal govt asserting "West Bengal, unfortunately under Mamata Banerjee, has become a safe haven for terrorists."
